Electrical Panel
An Electrical Panel, also known as a distribution board or load center, is an enclosure that houses electrical components used for distributing, protecting, and controlling electrical power within a facility. It typically consists of incoming power supply terminals, busbars, circuit breakers (MCB, MCCB), residual current devices (RCD/RCCB), surge protection devices (SPD), and outgoing feeders. The panel is fabricated from high-quality CRCA steel sheets (1.6mm to 2.0mm thick), treated with seven-tank processes and powder-coated to a minimum of 60 microns for corrosion resistance. Busbars are manufactured from high conductivity copper or aluminum and sized to carry rated current as per IEC 61439-1/2 standards. The enclosure offers ingress protection up to IP65 (for outdoor/harsh environments) and is designed to meet IEC, IS, or UL standards depending on the application. Wiring is done using multi-stranded copper wires with heat-resistant, flame-retardant (FRLS) insulation and proper cable lugs and ferrules. All components are modularly mounted for ease of maintenance and clear separation between power and control wiring is maintained. Electrical panels may include metering units (digital voltmeters, ammeters, energy meters), indicator lamps, and control switches for local operation and monitoring. Panels are subjected to routine tests including high-voltage withstand test, insulation resistance, and continuity test as per applicable standards prior to dispatch.
