Electric Control Panel
An Electric Control Panel is a factory-fabricated, metal-enclosed assembly designed to house and interconnect electrical and electronic control devices for the purpose of managing power distribution, motor control, and automation functions. Constructed typically from CRCA (Cold Rolled Close Annealed) steel sheets of 14–16 gauge thickness, the panel is powder-coated (minimum 60–80 microns) for corrosion resistance and environmental durability, conforming to IP54/IP65 protection class as per IEC 60529. Internally, the panel includes modular components such as MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, thermal overload relays, timers, and auxiliary relays, all mounted on a powder-coated MS mounting plate or DIN rail system. Busbars are made of high-conductivity electrolytic-grade copper or aluminum, sized as per IEC 61439-1/2 standards, and insulated with heat-shrinkable sleeves. Control panels may incorporate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA interfaces, and VFDs for automated process control and remote monitoring. All internal wiring uses stranded copper conductors with PVC or FRLS insulation, terminated with bootlace ferrules, and identified with engraved ferrule tags as per standard wiring schematics. Cable entry is typically bottom-fed through a gland plate, and panels include earthing terminals bonded to the structure, in compliance with IEEE grounding standards. Panels are tested for insulation resistance, high-voltage withstand, and functional performance before dispatch.
